We are located at 213 Scruggs Road, Moneta, Virginia. We are three blocks up from the corner of Routes 122/616 (Scruggs Road) on the left side in a white brick house. We would like to thank the Smith Mountain Lake community for their continued support. Our quilt fabric department is growing with new lines of fabric. Michael Miller fabric, Blank Fabric, Timeless Treasures Fabric, RJR Fabric, Baum Fabric, Moda fabric, Island Batiks, Kaufman Fabric just to name a few quilt fabric lines. This is the place for Made in Virginia products and to enjoy good old-fashioned shopping fun. Just like General Stores of old, The General Store offers a little bit of everything.

You will discover unique Virginia handmade gifts, taste treats from the past, smell fragrances of now and then, hear sweet whisperings of days gone by, and enjoy educational toys and puzzles which foster family fun. On Friday, April 24, The General Store was awarded The Retailer of the Year Award by the Retail Alliance. Over 100 stores were nominated from the entire state for the award and there were 10 regional winners. The General Store won for the Smith Mountain Lake area.
